Katie Elliott is an AHRC funded PhD student studying at Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts, London. Her practice-led costume research, titled ‘The Signification of Costumed Bodies in the Tanztheater Wuppertal’ explores how costumed bodies contribute to meaning within the performance rhetoric of the Tanztheater Wuppertal. Her research interests include costume design, scenography, semiotic theory, and drawing as a method of recording interpretations of performance. She is particularly interested in costume as situated within scenography. Katie has disseminated her research at the 2013 TaPRA conference and is part of the Scenography Working Group (TaPRA). She has also published a short piece in the peer-reviewed UAL Journal JAWs (Issue 1, 2012)
